Dye Penetrant Inspection Systems

An Activated Carbon Canister

 

Fluorescent dyes are used to inspect machined parts to detect defects that may compromise a manufactured part's integrity or quality. Inspected parts must be thoroughly cleaned after an inspection.

Carbtrol's filtration solutions prevent discharge of florescent dye and allow manufacturers to recycle the water.

Carbtrol offers two solutions for dye penetrant removal.  Please note, however, that dye formulations vary and not all dyes are removable with carbon.  Therefore the first installation should be treated as a pilot test.

 

For Soluable (dissolved) dye, Model L-1 CLR Carbon Canisters

L-1 CLR Features:

  • up to 10 GPM
  • 200 pounds of reactivated (larger pore) carbon
  • Large 1 and 1/4" internal piping. Low pressure drop allows operation of three canisters in series.
  • Standard FPT couplings for easy installation - saves time and money.
  • Special "no leak" lid gasket.
  • Heavy duty steel drums.
  • Piping design eliminates channeling.

 

For Dispersed (emulsified phase) dye, Model CA-1 Canister followed by L-1 CLR Canister
 
CA-1 Features:
  • up to 10 GPM
  • 300 pounds organophilic zeolite media
  • Large 1 and 1/4" internal piping. Low pressure drop allows operation of three canisters in series.
  • Standard FPT couplings for easy installation - saves time and money.
  • Special "no leak" lid gasket.
  • Heavy duty steel drums.
  • Piping design eliminates channeling.

L-1 CLR Features:

  • up to 10 GPM
